Alcoholism – also known as alcohol use disorder, alcohol addiction or alcohol dependence – is defined as the inability to control one’s drinking and alcohol consumption due to a physical and/or emotional dependence on alcohol. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous and even life threatening if not done under medical supervision. While most alcohol rehab centers focus only on detox for the duration of an alcohol withdrawal timeline, they don’t take enough measures to ensure the patient “stays clean” and maintains sobriety after detox from alcoholism. At Mitchell Medical PC, we tailor each treatment to the patient – from detoxing the patient in the comfort of their own home instead of in-patient rehab facilities to medically assisted treatments using medications to treat alcoholism known as alcohol use disorder and addictions such as VIVITROL and NALTREXONE – to ensure the patient can manage their alcohol use in the long term. Our office customizes our detox programs to suit each individual's needs. With the right help, Mitchell Medical is dedicated to helping you stay clean and sober for the long run and to help you get your life back from alcoholism.
Inpatient rehabs often only focus on the detox process, without helping with a patient’s long-term goal of staying sober. That’s why we offer outpatient treatment for those struggling to overcome their substance use disorders. Each treatment is tailored to the individual’s addiction and life, from detox at home to ongoing checkups and medically assisted treatment (MAT), to using medications such as Naltrexone, Suboxone and Vivitrol and others to ensure long term sobriety and help you maintain sobriety. Our outpatient rehabilitation services put the patient first, detoxes at home are more comfortable for the patient, more confidential than an in-patient and help our patients achieve sobriety in under a week.
Substance abuse disorders known as drug or alcohol addiction, stem from both mental and physical dependence. While medically assisted treatment ( MAT) can help combat withdrawals and the physical dependence of an addiction, we take the psychological side of addiction very seriously. All patients are referred to a psychologist for cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT ) in parallel to their treatment at Mitchell Medical PC. We believe that sobriety can be maintained when everything is healed. CBT helps patients cope with their emotional needs to break away from the dependency of substances and addictions.
The detox from benzos could usually take 10 months to a year to ween off properly. With our detox, we have medical tailored programs to get you benzo free in two weeks. Like with Alcohol, withdrawal from benzodiazepines (or benzos for short) can be life threatening if immediate or cold turkey. As a result, benzodiazepine withdrawal should be treated gradually and with professional care. We specialize in all types of benzodiazepine dependence, safely weaning off patients from any and all benzodiazepines including Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan), Clonazepam (Klonopin), Alprazolam (Xanax). Using a unique medically assisted treatment approach that’s tailored to each individual patient, Mitchell Medical PC can help patients wean off benzodiazepines at a rate that’s both safe and faster than most practitioners and detox centers, helping patients achieve attainable and lasting sobriety.

Obesity in America is at an all time high. Obesity is a chronic disease and food is as addicting as any other substances.
